Let’s just get this out of the way: Nancy Duarte is my hero. She is a member of my High Council of Jedi Knights because she models integrity, creativity, leadership and innovation in every day and every way. I adore her and drool over her work.
She is also the author of two best-selling books about presentations: Slideology and Resonate.
Resonate teaches “how to transform any presentation into an engaging journey, by leveraging techniques normally reserved for cinema and literature. You will discover how to understand your audience, create persuasive content, and elicit a groundswell response.”
Today, Resonate is released as the first business book built using Apple’s iBook Author.
When I saw a sneak peek version two days ago, the hair stood on the back of my neck and my heart started beating quickly.
I saw books in a whole new way — vibrant and alive on the screen, not just one-dimensional on a page. Any author knows the frustration of bringing ideas to life using only words. If you want to truly help and teach with your ideas, bringing audio, video and interactivity to books blasts things to a totally new dimension.
Like going from silent movies to talkies.
Or black and white television to color.
Or Pat Boone to John Legend. 🙂

Buy it. Study it. Model it.
Book publishing will never be the same.
Wow, this is beyond awesome! Truly interactive. I can see how even the people who don’t necessarily enjoy reading would buy and explored books like this!

So excited to see this–have been using Nancy D ‘s books to help create creative presentations, and am thrilled to see the presentation form take the iBook form”
OK, this is just really awesome! Just pushing the legal junk to the back is pretty awesome. Anybody know what tool do you use to create a book in this format?
Hi Marc. Apple’s iBooks Author. Glad you are enjoying Nancy’s iBook.
This is amazing, the ebook platform has alot of scope and its just starting, like how blogging did 8 years ago.
I’ll be honest – I’d not heard of her before today (not a slight – how many people do you know from the UK?), but I’m going to have to rectify that straight away. Which book do I start with?
I read both of Nancy’s books – Resonate and Slideology – and then I hired her firm to do our corporate presentation. Both are great and must reads, but I would definitely start with Resonate in the new format. You will never deliver or watch presentations as you did before. @dfbriscoe
This is going to revolutionize the way we learn — it’s incredibly interactive and engaging. It pushes the boundaries of the way we communicate and express ourselves. I am so excited. Both you and Nancy are my heros and members of my jedi council for all the reasons that you state: integrity, creativity, leadership, innovation and I would add authenticity and awesome collaborative spirit. Thank you!
Ditto, Lianne and Drew! I recently made the decision to move from traditional publishing to self-publishing online. (I write creative nonfiction.) I’m in the very early stages, but in my gut know it’s the right place for me. (And, well, for most of us. It gives writers a freedom and control that the old way just doesn’t offer.) Thanks, Pam, for sharing Nancy’s story and work. Inspiring!
this is AMAZING … like so many other people seem to be doing right now I am writing a book, but after watching this I intend on releasing my first book on this platform. WOW!!!
Whoa!!!! I’m super-stoked to see this. I’ve been playing around with ibook to create a sort-of-textbook for my psychology classes and I cannot wait to see what Nancy’s done with it. Thanks for the heads up.
