Energy comes from right people, right partners and right work

I spent the last four days surrounded by amazing people and hair-raising energy at Lift Off Retreat, co-lead by my partner Charlie Gilkey.

Flipchart pens flew, markets were dissected with fierce intensity, and believe it or not, singing and dancing occurred.

There was a moment on Day 3 when I realized that I only had one day to go.

When I used to lead corporate retreats, this 24-hours to go period was a huge feeling of relief. I thought:

  • I’m almost done!
  • Finally, now I can go home!
  • I hope they are happy — the evaluations better be good!

In Lift Off on Day 3, I thought:

  • How can it almost be over, we barely got started!
  • How I will miss sharing every meal with these people!
  • Why am I so filled with energy when I have been going non-stop for three days?

The difference?

When you bring the right people together, with the right partners, to work on meaningful things that will make a true difference in the world, and you sprinkle in massive opportunities for collaboration, work becomes joy.

Thank you Lift Off 3 alumni, you are amazing human beings and forces for good. I am astounded by your power.

If one is energetic by being influenced by others, it tends to last longer.

  2. LiftOff Changes Everything. Now we all know how to use our powers for good instead of evil. The combination of our collective energy, spirit, support – and lots of diverse ideas and skill sets – really did create a powerful ensemble experience with productive (and very likely very lucrative) results. Our follow-up calls are going to be explosive!

  4. Thank you for bringing the right people together, AND to you, Charlie and Angela, for creating a safe, creative space that allowed all of us to dig deep and share.

Lift Off was transformational, but I believe it is the community that was created that is the true measure of success.

Thank you for your grace, generosity and real-ness. It is a breath of fresh air.

I can’t wait to see what show tunes come out of the Blast Off reunion!

    With love and gratitude,
    liz xoxo

I am SO glad you were part of this group Liz!

      No accidents, n’est-ce pas?

The community is the best thing, hands-down.

My and Charlie’s superpowers can be boiled down to a key element: people connoisseurs. When you have the right people, anything is possible.

I am getting excited about Blast Off, and it is 18 months away! Cue the dancing chorus!

      Hugs,

  5. Pam,

I just want to thank you, Charlie and everyone for making me pretty much intolerable because I cannot stop talking about what an amazing, life changing experience Lift Off was! I am now a total Lift Off poster child! 🙂

In addition to that, today I am having the most productive work day I have ever had in my business and the funny thing is that I am also really, really enjoying it!!

Thank you for the amazing experience and the new family, to boot!

You know what happens when Charlie busts out his Charlie Fu, huh Rachel?

So glad to hear you are productive today. I am normally really tired after Lift Off, but I was totally fired up yesterday! Must be contagious.

Just don’t become like that character in American Pie (“And then, in Band Camp (insert “Lift Off”) …

      🙂

It truly was the right time – the right people – great ideas – hard work yet totally fun with a touch of Sumerstock! Thank you to Pam, Charlie, Angela and to all of you!!

  7. Julica says:

Thank YOU, Pam, for leading and teaching and inspiring with such grace and generosity. I just had my mom in tears, telling her about the weekend. (And no, she is not a crier like I am. ::grin:: )

Huge hugs and much gratitude. May it all return to you a thousandfold.

    <3 mwah!

How great that your Mom felt the emotion of the experience! Maybe we should do a “Lift Off Parents” reunion, wouldn’t that be a hoot?

It was so great to have you at Lift Off, can’t wait to see your biz flourish!

I honestly wondered how I could wake at 7:am and go non-stop until 11:30. I am fascinated by the power that happens when you bring the right folks together with the right Teachers/Guides and sprinkle in a little Copa…

To describe you and Charlie as merely teachers or guides does not begin to describe the power of being your student.

    Thank you!

      Y –

You were a non-stop source of fun and insight — it truly would not have been the same without you.

And your check for ONE MILLION DOLLARS is in the mail! 😉
